I spent six years as an Administrative Coordinator employed by Newberg Area Habitat for Humanity. I was in charge of all the volunteers and their activities, event planning, homeowners’ confidential files, filing, mass mailing, banking, writing newsletters, scheduling times and places for all the committee meetings, record keeping of all the volunteers, keeping track of homeowners’ sweat equity hours, and other tasks as needed. I also organized and taught community education classes, as well as organized homeowner classes, fund raising events, and volunteers for the building projects. I collaborated on, and wrote, a procedure handbook encompassing all things that needed to be done by an administrative coordinator. I am currently volunteering as a Family Advocate for a homeowner.
I also worked as an apartment manager for four years. As a manager I was required to collect rent, make deposits, file paperwork, do credit checks, process applications for tenants, file eviction notices, go to court as needed, and organize social activities for the apartment complex. I did the booking, marketing and advertizing for the complex, and I wrote the community newsletter.
I attended Portland Community college for two years majoring in Accounting.
I have taken classes on early childhood development, recognizing child abuse and early childhood education. I am currently CPR certified.
