Mary Dennison
Education and Clinical Liaison
I have been licensed as a professional educator for 21 years and have worked with special populations during my career. I attended both BYU Idaho and Brigham Young University where I completed two bachelor degrees, one in elementary education and the second in special education. I am a certified special education teacher. I first started teaching in Utah and then Idaho. I have worked within residential treatment programs for many years in both Idaho and Utah as a certified teacher. I have worked with delinquent youth who had been adjudicated or placed in residential programming by the school district for behavioral disorders. I have taught for the past three years in a traditional special education program. I have enjoyed my work with students in residential treatment and have come to understand the unique challenges that confront them. I bring not only years of service working with this population but also an expertise in residential treatment to Journey’s Quest. My role at Journey’s Quest is vast and meaningful. I will work with both the educational and clinical therapeutic programs and their staffs as liaison and clinical case review specialist. This will ensure that IEP’s and treatment plans are being reviewed monthly and followed as prescribed.
I also have a very special relationship with the CEO, he is my husband and we have a very happy marriage. Dr. Dennison and I met when I was teaching at a school were he was the principal. After a very discrete and wonderful courtship we were married and blended our families. Before we married, Dr. Dennison shared his dream and vision of Journey’s Quest with me. His enthusiasm and love for helping young people and their families is consistent with my own love for children. His love for young people was evident as our schools principal, this is one of the many things that attracted me to him. I am happy and excited to be part of his dream and to take this Journey with him!
