Milieu Manager
I grew up on a ranch in Lehi, Utah, where I learned to work with horses, train and break horses, shoe and shod horses, equestrian riding, cattle drives, dehorning and branding of cattle, and most domains of animal husbandry. Likewise, I have been involved with building and construction of several homes and commercial projects. These skills will allow me to work side-by-side with both young men and young women in the equestrian program and several of the building projects which are part of the Basic Life Skills program at Journey’s Quest. Young people will learn basic animal care, how to ride and care for the horses, agricultural development, along with basic concepts in carpentry, electrical engineering, framing, concrete work and other skills.
I have also worked for many years in an adolescent facility in Ogden, Utah, which is a long term lock down juvenile center for adjudicated youth. Additionally, I have worked as a volunteer with troubled youth and in several religious youth programs. I have instructed and taught basic camping and survival skills, conducting team unity exercises, family and individual rope course intervention and family experiential exercise interventions. I am presently completing a Bachelor of Science from Weber State University in psychology. I will continue my studies and eventually complete licensure as a clinical counselor.
